If it is the Lord’s will | Sunday 31 December, 2023

Lord’s Will. In today’s reading from James 4:13-17, believers are urged to approach the future with humility before God. While planning is not condemned, arrogance in assuming control of the future is deemed evil. Instead, believers are encouraged to say, “if it is the Lord’s will.” The focus is on making Godly goals—plans made with a humble recognition of God’s sovereignty. As we approach 2024, the passage reminds us to consider God in our plans and trust His guidance.
