Consider the words of Colossians 2:6 & 7, “ So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
These verses provide a great encouragement for us when we gather with the Lord’s people for the Church service. Living as we received Jesus means we believe in him and rejoice in his saving work. We certainly grow in our appreciation of what he has done for us, but it is that first love for Jesus that grows, not something new that needs to be found. You have already made it in Jesus and have every blessing imaginable! How can we respond? By overflowing with thankfulness both in life in general but also in the precious times with our Christian brothers and sisters praising, praying and hearing God’s word.
