Partnership Update – Paul and Deb Howells

Good Morning Our Dear Co-Workers,

Deb and my trip to Limunsudan was a really beautiful time last Saturday. The people are amazing there and there are about 50 believers in this infant church. I will put a short clip below that you can click on to have a look at some of the highlights of the time.

The population of Limunsudan is about 50% Higaonon and 50% Maranao (Muslim). Quite a few of those who have trusted Jesus in Limunsudan are ½ Higaonon and ½ Muslim. Maybe as time goes on, we will be able to have some impact into the full Maranao (Muslim) people. We passed 2 mosques on our way to the meeting. The Philippine military has occasional conflict with the Muslim folk there, and at times the believers of Limunsudan have had to evacuate for a while, while the military does bombing from helicopters as well as conducting other army operations.

We met under a tarpaulin covering and our seats were just made from bamboo. There was standing room only with people overflowing from the makeshift venue. We have purchased some land there and before too long we will build a meeting house where we can continue to outreach and disciple these young believers.

Take note in the clip of the disciples that Rudy and Precy have (Rudy is our missionary there with his wife Precy). They have about 5-6 trainee Bible teachers already. People wanting to serve our Savior. It warms our hearts greatly. Also in the clip are some shots of the main clans that have come to the Lord there. They are so happy to have received salvation through Jesus.

Rudy and Precy are the newest missionaries in our team, and they are in charge of the Lantod and Limunsudan areas. They are neighboring areas.

This last week we (unexpectedly) lost one of our missionary families. It was not due to a sin issue but they just were not able to continue on – missionary work is pretty tough. This has rocked us and our believers somewhat and we are saddened about losing them. Appreciate prayer for us all at this time.

Sending much Love this morning, Paul and Deb
