Eph. 3:20-21

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Paul finalises this section of the letter by a call to the reader to acknowledge God’s glory. By His power we are being changed to be more like Him (sometimes gradually, sometimes rapidly), and God can do absolutely anything – including beyond what our limited minds can grasp.

Interestingly, Paul conceives of the church as a unified whole, not just isolated groups in particular places and times. One day soon may we all be caught up to the new heaven and the new earth where we will continue to praise the Father, through the Son, by the Holy Spirit for eternity.

Let’s continue to rely on the strength of the One who can and will work through us for His glory.

Prayer: Lord, thank you that you are working within and through us. We pray that in your mercy your name will continue to be glorified in your church and amongst us. We pray for wisdom in how to share your beautiful gospel with those around us – including those that might be older or younger than us. Amen.
