Friday – John 15: 15-17

15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

I was listening to a preacher yesterday. He loved to be in the presence of God and he loved to teach. But he was convicted, because he realized that he was being Moses to his congregation. During the week he would ‘climb up the mountain’ be in God’s presence and then on Sunday he would tell the congregation what God had put on his heart.

When Jesus died on the cross, the veil was torn, we can now enter the Holy of Holies. God is so holy and we are so sinful without God’s redeeming work we would die if we were in his presence. But now…we can all climb up the mountain to be in God’s presence and speak to him directly and hear from him directly! Not just on a Sunday from a pastor. Anytime. We are his friends; he has chosen us! He has chosen you!

Isn’t that special?! We are his friends and he has chosen us to be his ambassadors here on earth. To bear fruit for his kingdom.

Because of what Jesus has done on the cross, you can approach his throne, climb the mountain, enter the holy of holies with boldness and confidence to meet and be with your friend. Do this today and ask him how you can bear fruit today.
