7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. – John 10:7-10
This week’s Grow Dailys have looked at the things we seek fulfilment in, and how they can contribute to the disquiet in our lives. But we’ve seen what Jesus offers in contrast to that is peace, certainty, and a full life.
Take some time today to reflect on a time you’ve known this peace and certainty Jesus brings. Also reflect on what might need to change in your life for you to know his peace more. You might like to write them down.
Sit and meditate on God – listen to what he wants to say to you through this.
Dear Heavenly Father.
Thank you for the gift of Jesus, and the peace he offers to me. I know that often I get distracted from listening to his voice, that I let the voices of what the world has to offer drown him out. Please help me to stop striving for things that don’t bring fulfilment. The things I’ve identified that distract me from hearing his voice, I hand them to you now. Amen
