As we come together as God’s people today, it is good to reflect on how much we owe to our glorious God.  It will help us to listen attentively to his word to us.  It will stimulate us in our praise and adoration of our Triune God.  We will gain confidence as we pray to him and love and compassion toward those about us.  To help us, below are some of the praises to God and specifically to the lamb of God who has taken away our sins, which are presented in the early chapters of the Book of Revelation:

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come. (4:8)

You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
    and have their being. (4:11)

You are worthy to take the scroll
    and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased for God
persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth. (5:9&10)

Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise! (5:12)

To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever! (5:13b)

Reflect on these and gather enthusiastically with God’s people.
