How would you feel if your hero came to live with you? If one morning you came into breakfast, and Spiderman was pouring out some cornflakes? Or if Steve Smith played some cricket with you after school? Or if Anna from Frozen helped you clean your room (while singing of course)? Think of your own hero….

Discussion:

Long before the beginning of the world, Jesus was chosen. He was chosen to be the hero to save us, to bring us back to God. He was chosen so we could be chosen.

Centuries before Jesus was born as a baby, a man called Isaiah wrote about him, and how he was chosen by God.

‘Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight. I will put my Spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nations.’ (Isaiah 42:1-2)

Jesus came and saved us through his death and resurrection. And now Jesus is living with us, through his Spirit. Our hero IS with us everyday! When we pray and read the Bible Jesus is with us.

Prayer idea

Thank you God that you came to be among us. Thank you for Jesus, that you chose him to be the hero we were all waiting for to save us. Thank you that we can see what you are like through Jesus. And thank you that you remain with us everyday through the Holy Spirit.

In Jesus name, and by His Spirit, Amen.
