From time to time, people finish in Ministry Teams. While that is a little sad for the people in their Team, it is so good to serve and then pass the ministry on to others who are ready to step up. Knowing this to be true, the Welcoming Team is farewelling Kristi Hanger and Paul & Katherine Fitzgerald at the end of the year.
Over the last three or so years, Kristi, Paul & Katherine have led the Welcoming Team with much care, skill, creativity, and dedication. They have recruited, inspired, and helped the Teams that stand at our front doors, bring warm smiles and open hearts to each person who come to our church.
During the time they led the Team, we also embarked on the implementation of Name Tags across both our Morning & Evening services. This was a huge project, requiring warmth and love for people, along with technical skill and experience. Their effort and dedication were second to none and evidence of their deep love for Jesus.
It was over this same time period that the Team has also created Mother’s and Father’s Day and Easter celebrations that have been designed to increase the welcoming aspects of those special Sundays, with the aim that more people feel able to invite their family and friends along to church. These events are now a firm part of our church calendar.
Thanks for your ministry.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1Peter4:10
