2 Thessalonians 3:1
“Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we ask you to pray for us. Pray that the Lord’s message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you.”
This month we are highlighting prayer requests from John Rowse and Ma’afu Palu

John Rowse is serving a wide variety of churches in Tanzania and neighbouring countries, seeking to evangelize ‘evangelists’ in East Africa.
- In Babati, the new pastor at the big Lutheran church was wonderfully clear on the gospel, and the next day he let me loose on a group of Sunday-school teachers. Well, that left them strongly divided! Please pray for them all.
- This week, I have been working where I have long longed to work—for many years—in the Northern Diocese of the Lutheran Church. I will spend most of the next two months here, and I would very much value your prayers for this time. I will be visiting the five districts of this huge diocese, four districts around Mt Kilimanjaro, and one way off to the west in Karatu, near Ngorongoro Crater. In each centre, I will have two days teaching the pastors and evangelists. I have just returned from the East Kilimanjaro District, for the first of these seminars, at Himo, not far from the Kenyan border. Please pray for them: they are VERY caught up in their sacramentalism, but were immensely teachable on the gospel itself, that is, justification through faith alone in Christ’s death. To some of the pastors this was not complete news, but in the end almost all were giving clear grace answers to my questions. They were incredibly grateful and have asked me to pass this on to you.
Ma’afu Palu works as a bible translation consultant for United Bible Societies, overseeing a number of projects in the pacific including the Tongan Bible Project.
- Healthwise, I’m good. I’m being monitored every four months now, and it seems to be going well. Thanks for your prayers.
- Please continue to pray for Elizabeth as she is in the final stage of her PhD.
- Albert, our youngest son in year 11, has to move school and is now studying in an Anglican College in Campbelltown
- Freddie, our second son, is preparing to start at Uni in July to do Civil Engineering
- Please pray \fFor my eldest son Tevita and his wife Rachel in Melbourne, that they will find time to read their Bible together and say their prayers.
