Prayer 24 July 2025 – for our Mission Partners

2 Thessalonians 3:1
“Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we ask you to pray for us. Pray that the Lord’s message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you.”

This month we are highlighting prayer requests from Kim & Ashley Hood and Steve & Saeko Manders.
For more information about each of our church mission partners, head to our website: Mission Partnerships – Living Church

Kim & Ashley Hood live in Brisbane and fly often to the Thai/Myanmar border regions to teach and share the Good News.

Please pray:

  • For the follow up after the training for Emmie and the team in Bangkok and Carol and her team in Yala.
  • For Pao Pao as she spends time in Brisbane doing the TESOL course and for the other TESOL trainees. Pray for those who don’t yet know Jesus – for open hearts and minds.
  • For wisdom and discernment about future TESOL training possibilities in Myanmar and the Philippines. For safety and support for teachers in Myanmar.
  • For the upcoming TEAM day/workshop being held in Brisbane on July 26. That people involved in the different church ESL ministries will come away from it being inspired and encouraged to reach out to others.

Steve & Saeko Manders are long-term missionaries in Japan. Steve has moved into a coaching role and Saeko balances service with supporting her aging parents.

  • Steve’s recent health situation:
    • Upon returning from Singapore, Steve became unwell. He presented to a doctor on June 2 and was hospitalised and treated for jaundice from June 3 to June 11. While in hospital, Steve had a number of tests to confirm the cause of his condition. He has been now been diagnosed with cancer in the bile ducts of the liver, and will begin chemotherapy this month.
    • Please pray for Steve, as well as Saeko and Emilie as we make this journey.
  • Give praise and thanks that Emilie has settled in well to her job at Mr Donut and not only seeing an increase in hours but also in her responsibilities.
  • Pray for Emilie who sprained her ankle while helping with childcare and the Japan Field.
