God’s unchanging nature gives us certainty in uncertain times. We see what God is like ultimately in Jesus, the one who was ‘before Abraham,’ so we need not fear. In the darkest pits of our despair, God still is. He is the “I Am” and so we are able to “not be afraid.” The Jesus who walked on water to comfort his disciples walked through death to comfort us.
