Last Sunday it was our sad but wonderful pleasure to farewell Josiah, Bloss, Clara and Lydia Wilson as they move to Adelaide at the beginning of 2024.
Bloss and Josiah have been a big part of Living Church over many years. Bloss was part of the Youth & Music Teams for many years and in 2012 and 2013 completed a Ministry Traineeship here at church. She subsequently went on to Queensland Theological College (QTC) – where she continues to work towards her PhD. Josiah joined us in 2013 while he was at QTC studying. They married and then continued the work that the Presbyterian Church of Queensland had started at Springfield with the support of Living Church.
After many years, it was decided to conclude the ministry at Springfield. This was a tough decision, but Josiah shared that they believe it was the right one. All the members of that Springfield congregation have moved to other churches and are serving God in new places. Both Josiah and Bloss expressed their thankfulness for the care and support they have received from Living Church over many years.
The Wilsons will be working with David Gunning and the Adelaide Presbyterian Church Team. They are excited to be beginning a new phase of ministry in a completely different part of Australia. The Board came together as we prayed this morning – laying on hands and sending them to this work with our love, support and prayers.
There are a good number of people who don’t know Bloss & Josiah – but many who do & so we wanted to share their farewell with everyone. Please pray for the transition to South Australia and fruitful ministry in 2024 & in the years to come.
