We come to Sunday mornings, so easily following the habit of going to church. But why do we go to church? Is it a ‘non-negotiable’ for you? This is a term a friend of mine used to describe church and growth group – her 2 ‘non-negotiables’ when she is struggling. No matter what she’s doing, where her mental health is at, she would always go to church and growth group. She almost always felt better for it, but also, it’s a lot easier to fall into bad habits.
Do you have an attitude like that? What can potentially stop you from going to church? What is it today? Be honest with yourself. It’s ok to go out of habit – church is what we do on a Sunday morning/evening – but if you have an idea of why, you might get more out of the service this morning.
Spend some time thinking about why God calls us, as brothers and sisters in Christ, to go to church. Why not talk to your friends about it when you get there, or after the service.
