There’s a lot of ‘dream interpreting’ in Daniel.  It’s something that has often piqued my curiosity.  You know that feeling when you have a weird or scary dream, or even a good dream, and you wake up thinking ‘hmm what does that mean?’  Personally, I try and brush it off, but sometimes I wonder whether God is trying to speak to me.  He might not be, I may have just watched a crazy show on TV and my subconscious was processing it.  But listening for God is something I know I’m not good at.  How about you?

Over the weekend and the coming week, take the time to sit in God’s presence (this can be anywhere by the way, it doesn’t have to be out in nature) and leave space for Him to talk to you, as you reflect on his Word to you.  When you’re distracted, bring your mind back to the task at hand: listening.

Some of us are very good listeners.  I could listen to my friends talk for hours, if that’s what they need.  But when it comes to God, I tend to do all the talking.  That’s not really how any relationship should work, especially not that of the one with our heavenly father.

Here’s a song I love listening to from time to time.  It’s called The Blessing and goes for 12 minutes.  Have this playing in the background as you spend time with God, just listening for what He has to say to you.

The Blessing
